Made from heavy-duty 2mm British steel, this planter gradually rusts over time, giving it a charming, weathered look that only improves with age. This custom-made planter can be tailored to your specific dimensions (up to 1200mm per side), providing a unique and personalised addition to your garden. The steel’s natural weathering process creates a finish similar to COR-TEN steel, developing a rustic appearance after exposure to the elements. It’s shipped clean and rust-free, with the vintage finish gradually forming over time.

Designed for ease of assembly, each custom planter arrives flat-packed with all the necessary parts, including corner and side panels, M6 bolts and nuts, and a 4mm Allen key for hassle-free construction in your garden.

Each custom planter is shipped flat packed, consisting of 4 side panels and 4 corner panels.
Due to the need for bespoke manufacturing, any cubic planters are subject to a 14 day maximum turnaround time due to this being a custom - no Next-Day services are available for these.
If purchasing 3 or more of these, we will have to send them on a pallet, so you may incur a £60.00 minimum shipping fee.
We reserve the right to refuse returns on these products due to the nature of them being custom-made.

Rusting Process Explained

At Indoor Outdoors we have many products which we describe as Rustic Steel. This refers to the fact that the item will rust over time to give it that lovely orangey-brown vintage look.

When your product arrives, it may have small patches of rust forming, but it will be in its bare, Mild Steel state. It will be a mostly grey-ish colour. Over time though, as the item is left outside and exposed to the elements, a rusty patina will form on the surface of the steel which gives it that lovely hue. This can take time though, and depends entirely on the outside conditions. Heavy rainfall and bad weather will help it rust faster.

You can speed the rusting process up though, some of our customers have recommended using vinegar, salt or lemon juice on the surface to get that rusty look a little sooner.

Rusting Process for Rustic Steel Products Explained

Want it to rust faster?

Depending on weather conditions, we say it can take anywhere from several weeks, to several months to fully rust. Jason, one of our customers has shared a special tip for achieving that lovely rusty outer in just 2 days!

You can pour equal parts of distilled vinegar and hydrogen peroxide into a spray bottle, along with a 1/4 of a standard cup of salt. Spray this mixture all over the product and it will cause an immediate reaction, rusting in just a matter of days!
