Norway Spruce is a classically festive plant that works as a great screening tree. Out of their orange-brown stems they produce long needle-like leaves which boast exceptionally dark green colouring. The cones have a reddish hue before maturing to a deep brown. The Norway Spruce is guaranteed to grow strong and tough in any region and in most soil types, but we recommend you avoid chalky soil.
They’re a large, evergreen conifer that works great as a tall screening tree. Out of their orange-brown stems, they produce long needle-like leaves which boast exceptionally dark green colouring, thanks to the iron-rich Herefordshire soil we grow all our plants in. The cones have a reddish hue, before maturing to a deep brown around 5 months after pollination. They’re also the longest cones of any spruce, at around 9-17cm long.
While the Norway Spruce is native to Central and Eastern Europe, we grow all of ours at the base of the Malvern Hills right here in the UK, in tough and varied microclimates. When our plants arrive at your door, they’re guaranteed to grow strong and tough in any region and in most soil types, unlike imported plants. Our Norway Spruce is very forgiving even in exposed windy areas, but we recommend you avoid a chalky soil.
